Supervisory Short: Emotional Intelligence
March 4, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 9:00 am
Emotional Intelligence is one of the top job skills and assessing job applicants for their emotional intelligence is important, especially where many work settings require effective teamwork to meet project demands or service goals.
Interviewers have begun to assess a candidate’s emotional intelligence (EI), the ability to understand your own emotions and the emotions of others, during the job interview process. If a worker has high emotional intelligence, they are more likely to be able to express their emotions in a healthy way and understand the emotions of those they work with, thus enhancing work relationships and performance.
Attendees will learn:
- The five key competencies of emotional Intelligence.
- The value EI brings to the workplace and its impact on employee performance and productivity.
- Interview questions that assess emotional intelligence and how the interviewee manages themselves and manages relationships with others.
- Assessing the answers provided by the applicant for organizational alignment.
