So You Think You Want to be a Supervisor
March 17, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Supervisors communicate organizational needs and oversee the day-to-day performance of employees. They are responsible for guidance and support of employee development needs. These responsibilities lead employees toward success within their positions and potentially their careers.
Frontline supervisors are traditionally promoted from their individual contributor roles where the focus is on a singular functional job. Newly-minted frontline supervisors must direct and manage the performance of others as well as their own. With a new role comes new challenges and opportunities and the question you need to ask yourself is, “Am I prepared for this; do I have what it takes?”
This program is designed for leads and those considering a supervisory position to educate on how to succeed in a new role BEFORE they say yes. It is important to know what you are saying yes to – no surprises. This program will focus on:
- What to know, consider, and ask yourself before you take the job of Supervisor
- Helping you evaluate your motivation for wanting to manage people
- Understanding the competencies needed to be an effective Supervisor
- Understanding the roles, functions and activities included in the position
- The benefits of Supervision
