Personal Improvement: Goal Setting

February 4 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am

The classic goal setting definition boils down to the process of identifying something you want to accomplish and establishing measurable objectives and timeframes to help you achieve it. Setting goals helps you decide and focus on what is really important to you – it is a cornerstone to effective, positive change(s). Gaining clarity, purpose, and direction are essential when it comes to changing habits and achieving goals. Setting goals not only gives you guidance, but it can also actually increase your chances of experiencing success. When you learn how to set goals in one area of your life, it becomes easier to set them in other areas.

This program is designed for you to articulate your goals and be able to set the agenda for achieving them.  This session will also provide tools (and charts) to those that supervise others in helping staff members create performance goals for themselves too.

This program will cover:

  • Individual reflection where are you know – what is working and what is not;
  • aiming for what is next and identifying any obstacles or barriers that could get in the way;
  • creating your next steps to achieve and how to evaluate what is in place;
  • The SMART system for goal setting (and apply the tool); and
  • How to apply and use this when working with staff members.
