HR Lunch Bunch – ‘Preparing for Oregon’s Equal Pay Act’ – Salem
April 25 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Equal pay for equal work isn’t just a good idea, it’s the law: it’s illegal to pay someone differently for the same work based on their gender, race, or religion. But, studies show that many individuals are still being paid less for doing the same work. That’s why Oregon passed the Equal Pay Act of 2017. It aims to eliminate pay gaps between genders, races, and other protected classes.
The good news: the law does a great deal to protect workers. Though, it will place new responsibilities on employers, who will need to ensure they are following the new law.
