Disabilities – What Case Law Teaches Us – Portland/ Tigard

The Americans with Disabilities Act has been around since 1990.  There have been many lawsuits since then that provide critical guidance for our HR decisions.  What are those cases and what have they taught us?

This session will discuss:

  • How critical the Interactive Process is in minimizing liability and how it should be documented.
  • How much “Undue Hardship” is considered too much.
  • What documentation is essential to minimizing liability.
  • How a release for a medical provider can make a huge difference in making employer decisions.
  • How defining the ADA procedure can ensure that your efforts are recognized if you end up in court.

This promises to be a lively workshop covering these items and more.  Come prepared to have Judy share her HR knowledge and her expert witness experience regarding ADA Compliance.

  • Payment for registration must be received one week before the scheduled program date.
  • Cancellations also must be received one week before the program date to receive a full refund.
  • There are no refunds for “no-shows.”
